Drain cleaning or hydro jetting: which approach fits?

Mechanical cable cleaning and high-pressure water cleaning serve different needs. Pipe condition, access and buildup guide the choice.

Mechanical drain cleaning

A drain cable, sometimes called a snake or rooter, works through a blockage in a suitable drain. It can be a practical approach for many fixture and line clogs, depending on the cause and available access.

Hydro jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water and a specialized nozzle to remove buildup in a suitable line. It may be considered for grease, sludge or recurring debris. It is not automatically the best choice for every clog.

Start with the pipe and the problem

A damaged pipe needs different attention from a sound pipe restricted by buildup. Describe the symptoms and previous work, and ask why a particular method is recommended. The project quote should reflect the equipment, access and agreed scope.

Talk through your drain problem.
